最後一次收到談德義神父(Pierre E. Demers,SJ)的信是在去年聖誕節，信中他跟我分享了過節的平安、喜悅、與寧靜，但在結尾他卻提到：”Here, we”re in the dead of winter: the sun rises at 9 A.M. and goes down at 3：30 P.M. Since I practice no winter sports after 40 years abroad, I”m beginning my hibernation until spring which is very far behind. It”s 4：30 P.M. right now and pitch dark outside my window.”此刻春天已然到來，然而他卻選擇了冬天，自此長眠！
