若修會會士以破壞院規的方式來侍奉天主，有如殺雞取卵。 Religious who try to serve God in ways detrimental to their Rule pull down the tree in order to pluck the fruit.

說話或做事之前，必須先問能否取悅天主，為自己有益，及能啟發近人。 Never say or do anything until you have asked yourself whether it will be pleasing to God, good for yourself, and edifying to your neighbor.

若想知道天主對你的要求，必須先放下偏情及喜好。 If you want to know what God requires of you, you must first of all put aside all affection and preference for one thing rather than another.

勿跟受大罪煎熬的人在同一屋檐下過夜。 Dwell not for a single night under the same roof with a man whose soul you know to be burdened with grievous sin.

若把精力放於祈禱，而非控制喜好，此乃錯誤之舉。 It is a mistake to spend on prayer the efforts that ought to be directed to getting the affections under control.

邪惡會棲身於寧靜及祥和籠罩的家居，真的令人費解。 In houses over which a calm and undisturbed tranquility is always brooding, it will go hard but some evils will make their nest.
