最后一次收到谈德义神父(Pierre E. Demers,SJ)的信是在去年圣诞节，信中他跟我分享了过节的平安、喜悦、与宁静，但在结尾他却提到：”Here, we”re in the dead of winter: the sun rises at 9 A.M. and goes down at 3：30 P.M. Since I practice no winter sports after 40 years abroad, I”m beginning my hibernation until spring which is very far behind. It”s 4：30 P.M. right now and pitch dark outside my window.”此刻春天已然到来，然而他却选择了冬天，自此长眠！

点灯照亮他人的耶稣会教师神父
by 碧瑶 1960-1980年代，台湾的台大、师大和辅仁大学，尤其是外国语文学系，非常倚重耶稣会的教师神父，他们是教师里不可或缺的王牌老师。就我所知，当年的台大外文系，耶稣会的神父负责教授的课程包括“莎士比亚”、“美国文学”、“社会学”、“欧洲文学”、“西班牙文”、和研究所等课程。这些学有专精的耶稣会神父，在“愈显主荣”的宗旨下，在教育里活出“荣耀上主”的使命。罗斯福路三段的“耕莘文教院”有许多位耶稣会神父，就近为台大、师大提供了最好的师资。
