看到一心寻找天主的修道者面带愁容， 或追求一切天主以外一切者喜形于色， 真是个奇蹟。 To see a religious who seeks nothing but God sad, or one who seeks everything except God happy, is a great miracle.

除天主或自己以外，任何来源的提议都是诱惑：须小心提防。 Whatever suggestion comes to you from any source other than God or your rule is a temptation: hold it suspect.

我不要掌权者的情绪—尤其是愤怒—完全熄灭及死亡，但需妥当受控。 I would not have the emotions, particularly anger, to be entirely extinguished and dead in those who are in authority, but kept in proper control.

无论因主的意愿或魔鬼获天主批准害你，要你受苦，仍要藉对主的望德获得胜利。 Whatever you have to suffer that God may will, or that the devil with God’s permission may bring upon you, nevertheless hope in God for victory.

为基督的缘故发愿轻看世俗的人，没有属于自己的国家。 The man who professes to despise the world for Christ’s sake has no country on earth to call his own.

爱那被彻底遗弃的人：爱那在他们内对基督的信念；若已失去这信念，爱他们的德行；若一切荡然无存，爱他们身上天主的神圣肖像；爱那拯救他们的基督宝血。

认识天主的人知道举心向上时，不只是在仰观星空，甚至是在凝视一片草叶或任何最微小事物时也是如此。 He who knows God knows how to raise his mind immediately to God’s love, not only when he beholds the starry heavens, but even on considering a blade of grass, or the smallest things of any kind.

无论你何等贫穷，勿忘乐善好施，慷慨解囊， 使病患福利，一无所缺。 However great your poverty, spare no expense that nothing may be wanting for the welfare of the sick.

纵然事物具最佳本质，并非为人人有用；但仍应践行，在实际情况中，利己益人。 What is best in itself is not always most useful for everybody, but that should be done which in the actual circumstances is of most profit to each other.
