Earlier this month, Schwarzman Scholars from the 2020-2021 Cohort paid a visit to TBC. As part of their commencement celebrations, they had the opportunity to visit important heritage sites like the Forbidden City, explore businesses and corporations in the Central Business District, and come face to face with the past, present, and future of Sino-Western connection at TBC.

During their visit, the Schwarzman Scholars toured TBC, pored over our Rare Book Collection, took photos in our iconic Ming Dynasty Scholar-esque louhanchuang couch, and learned more about China’s Jesuit history. They also learned how to brew and enjoy a cup of pre-Qingming green tea with TBC’s VP of External Communications and resident tea expert, Molly Gu. The key is in the water temperature, steep time, and tea to water ratio! Our guests came from around the world, but beyond their shared school experience were united in their curiosity, wonder, and appreciation for international connection. We had a great time chatting with them in our Tibetan Lounge and laughing as they posed with Terry, our Terra Cotta Warrior greeter.
