The Beijing Center (TBC) recently marked its relocation with a housewarming gathering at its new office in Beijing’s Sanlitun Embassy District, welcoming a group of close collaborators and long-time friends.
The gathering opened with brief remarks by Executive Director Simon Koo, who expressed his gratitude to those present for their continued support. He reflected on TBC’s development over the years and noted that the new location in the Sanlitun Embassy District offers a favorable setting for sustained exchange with embassies, cultural institutions, and international partners. He also shared how the new space would support TBC’s ongoing work in research, education, and cultural dialogue.
Guests were then invited to take an informal tour of the new office. The visit included workspaces designed for research and project coordination, meeting areas for small-group discussion, and a library housing TBC’s collection of rare books, academic publications, and archival materials. Many guests spent time browsing the library and discussing the background and significance of selected items, highlighting TBC’s long-standing engagement with Sino-Western intellectual exchange.
The gathering provided an opportunity for conversation and reconnection, with guests exchanging ideas on future collaboration in a relaxed setting. Rather than a formal launch, the occasion emphasized continuity—marking a new chapter while remaining grounded in TBC’s established mission.
TBC looks forward to continuing its work with partners and friends, and to further developing initiatives that foster meaningful exchange between China and the wider world.
